Logging and tracking internal support requests, with a status workflow and role-based access.
Overview
A full-stack system for logging and tracking support requests inside an organisation. Every request has a number, type, priority and status, and users see a different view depending on their role (employee, support agent, manager).
The problem
Colleagues’ requests came in by email, phone and messenger. Nobody knew who was handling a request, what stage it was at or how many were still open, and reporting was practically impossible.
The solution
A full-stack system with Django REST Framework on SQL Server. Every request automatically gets a number, type, priority and status, and the view changes with the user’s role (employee, support agent, manager). A status dashboard and a filterable list were built in the React frontend.
How I built it
- 01
The backend is a Django REST Framework API on SQL Server, with JWT authentication and role-based access.
- 02
The ticket model has a type (bug, suggestion, feature request, question), priority, status (new, in review, done, rejected), department and attachments. The ticket number is generated automatically on submission.
- 03
React frontend with Tailwind: status dashboard, filterable list, detail page and new-ticket form.
Features
- JWT authentication and user roles
- Automatic ticket numbers
- Type, priority and status
- File attachments
- Status dashboard
- Filterable list
- Standard REST API
Result
Every request can be traced from submission to closing, and the manager gets an overview of workload and open items on the dashboard.
