A full rebuild of a WordPress company website with React and Django, for better performance and room to grow.
Overview
Niki Pajouh Teb va Salamat, a medical equipment manufacturer, needed a company website to present its products and services, one that was built properly and could grow with the company.
The problem
The old site was built on WordPress and had hit the limits of its theme. Adding anything new (a product catalogue, category pages, a blog) meant fighting the theme, and relying on third-party plugins made maintenance risky.
The solution
The whole site was rewritten from scratch with a React frontend and a Django backend. Separating the two completely through an API gave full freedom in the interface design and a foundation that makes adding new features simple.
How I built it
- 01
The React frontend is completely separate from the backend and talks to Django only through a REST API, so no WordPress theme or plugin limits the design.
- 02
Content (products, categories, pages) is managed in the Django admin panel, so the company team can update the site without technical knowledge.
- 03
SEO structure (titles, meta descriptions, meaningful URLs) was built in from the start, not bolted on as a plugin.
Features
- Product catalogue with categories
- Company and services pages
- Content management panel independent of the frontend
- SEO-friendly structure
- Fully responsive on mobile and desktop
Result
A website that loads much faster than the WordPress version, and whose content the company team manages without needing a developer.
