A ready-to-sell cloud product for language schools: students, teachers, classes, online exams, tuition, a video store and certificates. Monthly plans, a 30-day free trial and SMS login.
Overview
Avana puts the whole job of running a language school into one system: admissions, class schedules, attendance, online and placement exams, tuition, selling video lessons, issuing certificates and financial reports. It is built as SaaS. A school signs up on its own, uses it free for 30 days and then buys a plan. Every school has its own name, logo and colours, and the entire interface, from the login page to the PDF certificate, shows that school’s brand.
The problem
Language schools usually handle enrolment in one program, accounts in another, and exams and attendance by hand. The result is duplicated, inconsistent data, slow financial reports and unpaid tuition that quietly gets lost. Existing software either has to be installed and maintained separately for every school, or won’t let a school show its own brand.
The solution
I built a multi-tenant platform that keeps each school’s data, branding, payment gateway and SMS panel fully separate. A new school signs up in minutes, and a step-by-step “getting started” guide walks it to its first class and first student. The platform owner manages every school, plan, subscription revenue and consent record from a dedicated console.
How I built it
- 01
The core is a “school” model, and every record (student, teacher, course, session, payment) hangs off it. Every API filters by the user’s school, so no school can ever see another’s data.
- 02
Subscriptions run on configurable plans (trial, basic, full) that cap students, teachers and features. Plans can be bought through a bank gateway or by card transfer with receipt approval, with automatic reminders 7, 3 and 1 day before expiry.
- 03
Every role (manager, teacher, student) signs up and logs in with a mobile number and a one-time SMS code. Password reset and change use the same flow.
- 04
Once a course’s weekly days and hours are set, all its sessions are generated on the calendar automatically, and attendance is taken right there.
- 05
Online exams come with a question bank, automatic placement, and both automatic and manual grading. A shared bank of 700+ questions can be switched on for schools as an add-on.
- 06
The school’s video store: the manager creates video subscription plans and topic bundles, students buy them, and access opens only after payment. The money goes straight to the school’s own account.
- 07
End-of-course certificates are issued as PDFs with a Persian font and the school’s branding, plus a QR code and a public page to verify they are genuine.
- 08
Terms and privacy policies are versioned, and every consent (user, version, time, IP) is logged and exportable. More than 100 automated tests cover the sensitive parts.

Result
Avana went from in-house software for one school to a cloud product ready to sell. A school starts working in minutes with no technical setup, and its whole teaching and financial cycle, from enrolling a student to tuition and certificates, is managed in one place.
